:) (smile)
other clarifications:
- they do not teach against organized adventist formal education (although egw emphasizes homeschooling as best when no church school is available)
- ma'am Orbe's reason for homeschooling her children is health reasons. to avoid junk food, too much sugar, etc... which was causing them asthma etc...
- Garde family's reason is experimenting on homeschool to try to develop better curriculum emphasizing more on Christian Education and less on secular things.
- they do not teach people to leave the SDA church. "we are reformers but not offshoots".
- the diet they practice in the training is a "disease management diet" which they have to learn how to prepare, how it tastes, how it affects their body or the body of the patient
i was there, to eat nice food, to learn things pastor bryan has been reading, to help my friends in their ministry, to help keep them from error, and to help others learn those nice things.
the videos of the lectures are in http://www.aup.edu.ph/aolis/Software/religious2/goshen-2009Dec-dimani-320x240/ (about 130 hours of lectures)
the curriculum is in http://www.aup.edu.ph/aolis/wingp/go/
about ron wyatt and the ark of the covenant, i'm the one who started all of it here in aup, but now i think we have to research more about it or just wait for it to prove itself. if it is false, then it is our great disappointment somewhat like in 1844. but that means we have to continue searching out more truths...

As member of the organized church of the Seventh-day Adventist church I have some questions:
ReplyDelete1. CLEARANCE - You mentioned about being "cleared." Clearance for me is an official statement endorsing this group. I'd like to see any OFFICIAL WRITTEN ENDORSEMENT supporting this group. I am hoping we are not using people's names here for the sake of gaining people's trust and support when there is no actual proof of endorsement. There is a difference with trying to explain what you think you believe to what other people perceive about the group and how they understand the group's message.
2. MESSAGE - Theology/beliefs determine mission. Mission determines organization or structure. I think an official statement of what the groups believes in will help. IF THE MESSAGE IS CLEAR people will have better understanding.
3. CENTRALITY OF THE CROSS - Health reform is part of the Adventist message. We are all encouraged to practice it. But when health reform becomes the center of our preaching and witnessing, we become a cult. We better make our message clear. This may not be the stand of the group but some members might not be practicing it - making Jesus and the gospel central in witnessing. Motives (convictions and personal stand) are different from people's perception(the message they hear).
4. FORUM - People are asking questions about the group. Some think it is just a fad that will pass away. Some think its an offshoot. Just as you have opened this site to encourage matured dialogue, why not host a forum and let those involved in it answer questions in a public forum.
5. RESPONSIBLE JOURNALISM - We are responsible for what we post - much so in the official website of an official SDA institution such as AUP. What we distribute from an official website sends the wrong message that what is distributed is official. We are in control of what we post and this might either bring blessings or confusion among the readers and viewers. Theology and doctrine can be a blessing or burden. Ron Wyatt is one such questionable material distribute by AUP website.
6. RON WYATT - I have seen the topic of RON WYATT'S ARK OF THE COVENANT in the Goshen Brochure by Bryan Tolentino. So this is not just distributed by Win Pasamba. Whether this was discussed in Aurora or not, we should have official church bodies study the materials first before releasing videos of this in public. Personally, Archeology affirms my faith but is not the basis of my faith.
7. BLOG ETHICS/POLICIES - I believe Win Pasamba is the best person to form a committee to set the rules and guidelines of what gets posted on AUP's official website. This with the approval of AUP's ADCOM in conjuction with the PR Director and the VP for religious affairs.
Thanks for such an open dialogue and for approving my comment.
Blessings,
Bro. Ardie Bernardo
Chairman, Area 10(Cavite) of Central Luzon Conference of SDA's
Thanks Pastor Ardie, for the questions and suggestions and corrections.
ReplyDeleteAs for Ron Wyatt, with the help of some concerned people, i have read some articles that negate his claims. So i have put them (links) along with the videos. I adapt the opinion that Ron is a sincere guy but many of his claims have yet to be proven. So I hope it is to your pleasure that i have quite sided with you on this issue.
I am grateful, to you and to the other new friends who had the same conccern, that you have pointed this out with perseverance and patience.
Re: CLEAR / CLEARANCE / ENDORSEMENT
ReplyDeleteThank you for asking what I meant. As the one who wrote these, I owe you the explanation.
When i used the word "cleared", i meant that they tried to answer all the questions. i did not mean CLEARANCE, nor ENDORSEMENT, nor SUPPORT. Anyway I'm going to edit this blog entry as more truth reaches me. I have been told that someone doesn't want his name here, so we'll respect that.
Re: cleared
ReplyDeletewhen i wrote this blog, that is what i understood. but now i think some things have changed. so i appreciate the critics / informants.
